Emma Thom, PhD Researcher.

I am a PhD researcher in the Future Interaction Lab at Swansea University under the supervision of Prof. Matt Jones. Currently I am designing and developing wearable technologies to support researchers on the PATINA (Personal Architectonics of Interfaces to Artefacts) project. Funding was awarded by the EPSRC and the AHRC through the RCUK Digital Economy programme.

Currently I am designing and developing tools to support researchers and exploring augmentations of artefacts that allow for the focus to remain with the physical or digital artefact.


Textile irrigation system
2010

Took part in the CHANGE project workshop to create wearable prototypes using
arduinos and textiles to explore the concept of 'Better Living through Technology'.

Telling StoryBank
2009

Organised the public exhibition of the Story Bank research project at the British Science Festival September 2009.
